AP Accountant | Payments

Location Porto, Portugal
Reports to Accounts Payable Team Leader

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented AP Accountant with focus on Payments to join the Shared Service Centre in Porto.

You will be responsible for managing payment processes across European and American markets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in every transaction.

Main Responsibilities
- Prepare payment proposals, research and validate documents, analyze accounts, and execute payments
- Manage payments of liabilities (vendors, intercompany, T&E, taxes, payroll, and customer refunds)
- Reconcile pending payments, execute payment runs, and perform bank transfers;
- Collaborate with the Treasury Team and banks to align cash availability and resolve issues
- Perform AP Balance and DPO Forecast analysis
- Support the preparation of financial statements and other reports
- Handle internal and external queries via email or phone
- Support internal and external audits and ensure proper financial controls
- Participate in improvement projects within the payments process and SSC operations
- Understanding of IFRS
- Knowledge of cost and performance accounting
- Experience with SAP and/or JD Edwards is highly valued

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Finance/Accounting
- Previous experience in a Shared Service Centre and/or process transition
- English level B2 or higher (mandatory)
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP and/or JD Edwards) and MS Office
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Offer
- Schedule Monday- Friday, 37,5h per week
- Hybrid work after the first month of training (3 days home-office 2 days office)
- Base salarydepending on experience and seniority
